Abstract
Antimicrobial susceptibility of pathogenic bacteriae is an essential part of clinical bacteriology beacause many clinical isolates are resistant to various antimicrobial agents and antimicrobial susceptibility are increasing and changing area and time. Therefore, we evaluate the patterns of isolated microorganisms and their antibiotic sensitivities from specimens requested for microbiological culture latest 3years from 2003 to 2005 at ICU of Konyang University Hospital. In gram-positive organism, Staphylococcus arueus, Coagulase negative Staphylococci were frequently isolated. In gram-negative organism, Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae and P. seudomonas aeruginosa were frequently isolated. Vancomycin resistant S.aureus was not detected but the rate of vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium was 10%. MRSA were increased every years and average 89%. In veiw of the fact that understanding of antimicrobial susceptibility is one of the most improtant guides in selecting antimicrobial agents for treatment of patient with bacterial infection.
